Virginia Surgical Society

The purposes of the Virginia Surgical Society are to promote excellence in surgery in Virginia through the superb programs at the annual meeting and to promote a cordial association among the surgeons and their families.

  • Networking/Building Relationships: As a collegial organization, we encourage social interaction. Networking on a local level allows members to exchange ideas, receive updates on new practices, technology and professional resources, and to participate in educational activities. Your colleagues and peers are always willing and ready to assist you.
  • Education: The 2012 Annual Meeting will be held April 27 - 29 at Inova Fairfax Hospital / Fairview Park Marriott. We meet in conjunction with the VA Chapter, American College of Surgeons and host highly respected educational speakers while enjoying a weekend of fellowship. The meeting is very family-friendly and we encourage your family to join you for the weekend. .
  • Communication: Members are alerted to upcoming meetings and activities and are linked to associated web sites through our member e-newsletter.

We have two categories of membership:

  • Active Members – Dues $150 annually
  • Resident Members - Dues $25.00 annually and includes free Annual Meeting registration, a value of $110! Also, as a special incentive, if you join as Resident or Fellow, your dues for Active membership are half-off for the first 2 years in practice in Virginia ($75.00 annually instead of $150.00)
